A technology update seminar, “Zukünftige Automobile – Future Automotive” was held as a platform to discuss various topics, issues and challenges surrounding Industry 4.0.
The production of electric and hybrid vehicles, talent development for future automotive manufacturing, and technological developments such as Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Vehicles were some of the topics that were covered in the seminar, which was held in German-Malaysian Institute (GMI), Bangi on the 16th of October 2018.
The Malaysia Automotive Institute (MAI) was represented by Nizmar Mohd Nazar, the COO of MAI where he explained the initiatives taken by MAI to guide the local automotive industry towards Industry 4.0, especially within the areas of talent development and automotive manufacturing.
Besides that, MAI also set-up a booth to display future technology updates that are in-line with Industry 4.0 such as Additive Manufacturing (AM) – 3D Printing, Augmented Reality (AR)/hologram design review and hybrid vehicle simulator. Several MAI programmes such as 4R2S Workshop, IPC, IPC-PPT were promoted to the participants of the seminar.
The seminar was launched by YB Dato’ Haji Mahfuz bin Omar, Deputy Minister of Human Resources. Also present were, YBrs. Encik Nidzam bin Kamarulzaman, General Director of Department of Skills Development, Encik Sofian Kamal bin Din, Head of Training Department, Nilam Auto Enterprise, Mr. Carsten A. Bauer, General Manager and Head of Product & Pricing Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars South East Asia 2, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Sdn Bhd and Encik Bashirun bin Che Morat, Head of Section Control & Instrumentation, GMI.
